The facing of secant and contiguous piled walls with sprayed concrete is probably the most commonplace use of the process.
There is a whole range of applications such as infilling of cusps between the piles, overlays following the pile profile or full overlays incorporating reinforcement which can also be trowelled to give a flat wall finish. It is also possible to incorporate waterproofing systems within the sprayed concrete application, or apply a waterproof membrane over the sprayed concrete facing.
Gunform has carried out numerous sprayed concrete applications to piled walls on major developments such as:-
- The Channel Tunnel Rail Link (CTRL 105, CTRL 340, CTRL 420)
- Sheffield Inner City Relief Road, M4/A34 Junction Improvements (a Concrete Society Award was received for this project)
- Stanmore London Underground Station
- Shortlands Railway Station
- Cross Street Tunnel
- Numerous residential and commercial developments.
